I Heart Macro - Campus Snow 2009

It is another wonderful I Heart Macro Sunday over at Studio Waterstone.  If you wish to participate or see what everyone else is taking macro shots of head on over.

I thought I would share some pics from 2009 when it snowed on campus.  This winter it has snowed I think three times and only once where it was pretty heavy, and of course I didn't have my camera.  I love seeing pictures of snow but I hate being out in it (I hate being cold!).  I thought these pics turned out pretty well and I thought I would share.

I took these photos outside the PAO (Visual and Performing Arts) building.  My favoritest place on campus!!!!!  This was when I was still going to classes, right across the street from where I work.  So, I took photos as I was walking back from class.

Now these next photos are of a horse sculpture.  For the life of me I can't remember her name who creates these beautiful pieces.  I know I have written about her on our EB Bead and Metal Works blog but I can't remember when.  What the artist does is take limbs and builds the sculpture and then casts it in bronze and then gives it a look of weathered wood.  How cools is that!!!!

I love how the snow is falling around the horse and then the close up of its mouth with water droplets on the wood.

Well, I hope you enjoyed the show.  I am off to finish sawing, filing, sanding and enameling.  I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

  1. Beth, That horse sculpture is amazing I would have never believed it was not wood. It looks so natural on the snowy grounds of the campus.
